The Biden administration is entering the realm of dating apps in its latest effort to encourage Americans to get vaccinated against Covid-19. Tinder, OKCupid, Hinge, Bumble, Match and other platforms for connection seekers are offering profile boosters to those who get the jab, the White House announced on Friday.

Dating apps are making a range of perks available to inoculated users, including badges reflecting they have gotten the shot and free access to premium features.

‘Hinge will encourage users to share their vaccination status on their profile and give vaccinated users a free “Rose,” which is premium content that indicates to other users that they’re especially excited to get to know them,’ stated the White House, according to NBC News.

On OKCupid, ‘vaccinated people will also receive a free “Boost” to move their profile to the front of a daters’ stack’, the White House said.

Simply getting the jab apparently ups daters’ appeal. OKCupid found that people who are vaccinated or planning to do so get 14% more matches than those who are not, the White House divulged.

More than a half dozen dating apps are helping the White House in Biden’s goal to have 70% of American adults with at least one shot by the July 4 holiday.

Tinder users who are vaccinated will get a ‘Super Like’ to increase their chances of being noticed by a desired match and can add ‘Vaccines Save Lives’ and ‘Getting Vaxed’ stickers to their profiles.

Bumble and Badoo are giving credit for ‘Superswipes’ and Spotlights premium features and will allow members to add ‘vaccinated’ badges.

Match will also have a ‘vaccinated’ badge and give those users a complimentary ‘Boost’ for more visibility on the platform.

Plenty of Fish will gift 20 Live! credits for its Plenty of Fish Live! streaming feature to those who display the ‘I Got My Shot’ badge.

Meanwhile, the BLK dating app for black singles will give a ‘boost’ to those with ‘Vaxified’ badges, and the Chispa dating app for Latino singles will gift a ‘boost’ to those who add the ‘Vacunado’ badge.

The White House’s partnership with dating apps comes 10 days after Biden announced a deal with the Uber and Lyft apps to offer free rides to and from vaccination sites. The administration has rolled out a multitude of programs and offers with major companies as vaccination rates fall, with many of those who are not yet vaccinated in the hesitant population.
