Five Guys A Week: Are Charlotte and Laurence still together? What happened next after the dating show ended

Five Guys A Week’s latest episode saw Charlotte try and find her Mr Right by taking part in the Channel 4 dating experiment.

The 37-year-old said she wanted someone to be attractive both mentally and physically, with the dating squad introducing her to five men, who joined her in living at her London home to get to know her better.

Her choices were: creative director Pete, explorer-at-heart Toby, heavily tattooed gym owner Laurence, recruitment consultant Toby (2) and professional golfer Graham.

Whittling them down after a series of dates and tests, including meeting the family who had a few choice thoughts about some of them, Charlotte chose Laurence as her final man after the eliminations.

So how did they fare once left to their own devices?

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Charlotte said: ‘We did try and meet up a couple of times, and Notting Hill Carnival was on and we were trying to meet up during that, but then that didn’t happen, and I got busy, and then I think too much time went by, so it just didn’t turn into anything.

‘We’re still in touch now, and we’re kind of aligning in business as well.’

Charlotte and Laurence did give things a go though, with the herbal remedy business woman saying she enjoyed their date once the cameras were over.

She told us: ‘We got to spend some time together without cameras on us or without anyone else to think about, and by that point there was an attraction that had built up.

‘It was like having an extended date and then having a lovely dinner and hanging out afterwards as well.

‘Having another drink and just chatting one-on-one without a sense of I need to involve anyone else.’

While Laurence may not have worked out, Charlotte admitted that the show did teach her the importance of opening up to others when looking for love.

‘I think I proved something to myself by going on a show like that, and having to do a lot,’ she said. ‘I was interviewed several times a day, and really analyzed what is important to me, and if that’s more important than this… and kind of weighing it up.

‘It helped me realise what my needs were in a relationship.’

‘I also found the honesty quite revelational,’ she added. ‘In early dating, you’re trying to play quite cool, and I think I probably pull back quite a lot in terms of what I’m thinking or feeling.

‘I’ve often got the feedback that I’m difficult to read, and I think I just thought the whole world was going to fall apart if I actually said something positive or negative to a guy, and that they would react badly or that they would suddenly reject me because I’m too keen.

‘I think what it showed me was, actually, I can express what I’m feeling and the world isn’t going to fall apart and they actually really appreciate it, because they’re vulnerable as well.’

Five Guys A Week airs Fridays at 10pm on Channel 4.
