Tinder users say they are unable to properly use the dating app due to technical faults, holding them back from finding their one true love.

Many smooth talkers hoping to get themselves a date this weekend said they were unable to send or receive messages.

A smaller number of users said they were unable to log in or form a connection with the app.

A surge of complaints started coming right before 4pm this afternoon, according to Downdetector, a website monitoring outages of major websites and services.

Issues have been reported in a number of countries other than the UK, including the US, Canada, New Zealand and France.

One lovesick user tweeted: ‘So Tinder is down, which gives me a confidence boost since that’s the reason I’m not receiving messages right now, and not because of my personality.’

Another said they were already’ getting lonely’ in the space of an hour, while another asked ‘what should I do with my life now?’

One frustrated user added: ‘Tinder had to really do down the second I’m making plans with someone.’

If Tinder isn’t working for you and you’re desperate to form a deep and meaningful connection with someone this instance, you could try some other dating apps.

Hinge, Bumble and Grindr appear to be working with no technical issues at the moment, according to Downdetector.
