Five Guys A Week held its series two finale tonight – with Welsh divorcee Sharon the latest to give the experiment a go.
Sharon, 51, admitted that she hoped it would be ‘third time lucky’ in her quest for The One after being married twice before, and wanted to settle down with someone.
Moving five gentlemen, picked especially for her, into her home, the support worker soon had a mission on her hands to figure out if there was a connection in an ultimate version of speed-dating.
There was international salesman Zac, entrepreneur Paul, Dan – a Jason Statham lookalike, self-declared MAMIL (middle aged man in lycra) Mark, and gym fan and handyman Ben.
Whittling them down over the course of a week, Sharon had her work cut out for her – but eventually she chose Zac – the well-groomed salesman and silver fox who managed to win her over.
But what happened after the cameras left? Did they make a go of it?
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Sharon said: ‘We’d seen each other quite a lot for about eight weeks. We spent a lot of time together, I went up to Bristol and Zac was in a fashion show catwalk. So we attended that together, it went really well.’
However, things quickly ended when the pair started distancing themselves, and ultimately they had to call it quits.
‘I finished it,’ she said. ‘I’m too old for that. I’ve seen and done it all, and he knew the score.’
Zac has since patched things up with his wife, who he split with seven months before filming the show.
However, there was a happy ending for our Sharon – as she’s now found someone new, and has been smitten with him for the past seven months.
‘I met him in Caerphilly!’ Sharon told us. ‘I was in such a good place after the filming, and I was quite happy being on my own. I wasn’t looking for anyone.
‘And I went out, I didn’t really want to go out but my friends dragged me out, and I met him! He lives literally about 10 minutes from me, and we’ve been together now seven months.’
‘If I hadn’t done the filming, I don’t think I would have been ready to meet him,’ she admitted.
‘I think I would have just put everything on hold, but I did that and I came out kind of like a peacock! It’s just amazing.’
Five Guys A Week is available now on Channel 4 On Demand.
